Salou is a seaside resort and tourist center in Costa Dorada, thanks to its beautiful beaches and its many tourist facilities.
It's a very popular holiday destination, specially since the town contains theme
parks such as Port Aventura and Costa Caribe (one of its most famous attractions is the Dragon Khan, an impressive B&M 'mega-looper').
Used as a port by Greeks and Romans, part of Catalonia Kingdom, nest
of pirates... you can discover Salou's history visiting some of the historical sites: Torre Vella (defence tower) or the walls of the suburb of Vilafortuny.
Salou beaches have 34 European Blue Flags: We
recommend to visit Passeig Jaume I (the Salou promenade) is one of the most beautiful landmarks of Salou. It runs right along the coast adjacent to the Llevant Beach, the biggest beach in the town.
Other nice
and interesting Tarragona and Costa Dorada beaches are Platja de Ponent, Platja dels Capellans, Platja Llarga and Cala Crancs.
