Palma de Mallorca is the capital of the Balearic Islands, and the biggest city in the island. This city has a rich history, since has been occupied by romans, byzantines, muslims, and finally catalans.

As in many other cities in spain, you will easily find nightlife and spectacular beaches... but if you go to palma you have to see at least the Bellver Casttle, and the arabian baths. The Bellver Castle is one of the most well conserved castles in spain, and its basic to see the city from the top of this castle in order to understand why the name of the castle means "beautiful view" in catalan. Also, a walk through the "Olivar market" would be a very good choice. Finally we would like to suggest you a visit to "Poble espanyol", a thematic park in the outskirts of palma, where some reproductions of many interesting spanish monuments and cities can be seen. Also if you go to "Poble espanyol", you will probably see many artist at work, since this place is a really useful inspiration for many of them.

Finally we have to say that a trip to some of the closer towns will be a very nice idea. Ca'n Pastilla or Arenal have many things to offer to any visitor, specially less overcrowded beaches and other interesting cultural places such as the "Porciuncula" (a church which is made of glass) in CaŽn Pastilla, or the mayor avenue of el Arenal, which is really gorgeous.
