Photo of Gandia

Gandia is one of the most interesting cities of the spanish coast. This city can offer to tourists both nightlife and cultural activities. Also Gandia is recognized for its delicious mediterranean food, in fact here was cooked the first fideua (paella with noodles instead of rice).

Gandia has been discovered during the last years for european tourists, specially for english and french ones, despite the fact that it has always been a very popular place for native tourism.

Gandia is divided in two main areas: the coast which is filled with pubs discos and restaurants, and the city centre with museums, shops, and historical buildings. The main historical buildings are the church of Santa Maria, the palace of the duke (where the famous duke of Borgia used to live), the old university, and the city hall itself, which are located near the old quarter of the city.

The famous library of Gandia and the Summer Festival of Clasical Music should be beared in mind in any cultural tour.

Finally we have to mention that Gandia has recived a blue flag and has been awarded many times for its well-equipped and adapted beaches
